When given a challenge to redesign the Benihana Kids Menu, I knew I had an opportunity to bring fun to a demographic largely overlooked by the restaurant industry. And since half the fun of going to Benihana is watching the master chefs perform, why not let kids join the fun with their own Benihana chef hat.
Launched in 2009, the Kabuki Kids menu has become a favorite of children and adults. But don’t take my word for it, go to Instagram and search “Benihana.”
Even the Ivy League took notice. Harvard’s Business School, which routinely does studies on the Benihana business plan, acknowledged the Chef Hat’s popularity amongst Benihana guests of all ages as another unique way that Benihana brings fun to fine dining.
